VARIETY: 100% Tempranillo. One of the best vintages in the Alavesa area.
The vineyards developed very well thanks to the weather, obtaining a high
quality harvest. Rain and snow, abundant during the winter, were
accompanied by an increase in rainfall at bud break, which ensured all the
water needs of the vines. As if that were not enough, during the harvest
season the weather was exceptionally good.
WINEMAKING: Made from vines over 60 years old, with low yields and
high concentrations of polyphenols and coloring matter.
Fermentation of destemmed grapes at temperatures not exceeding 30ºC.
AGEING: 36 months in American (50%) and French (50%) oak barrels.
Biannual racking, six barrels are used for the aging process. Bottled since
January 2009.
