VARIETY: White Tempranillo and Viura.
VINTAGE: 2019; it is considered one of the best vintages in recent
years, rated as an “excellent” vintage by the DOCa. Rioja. It was
marked by low yields in the vineyard, a winter with little rainfall and
the threat of frost in May. Its final phase had optimal weather
conditions, resulting in very expressive, fresh wines with great volume on
the palate.
WINEMAKING: Plots located in Moreda de Álava, at altitudes between
460/540m. Manual harvest; after a light pressing, we ferment the must in
flor at a controlled temperature. Subsequently, we proceed to the
tirage. Finally, we bottle, where the second fermentation takes place, with
a total of 18 months of aging in rhyme. Disgorgement takes place at the
end of October 2021.
