After a 14 year hiatus, due largely in part to the overwhelming backlash of Merlot in the
American market from the movie Sideways, Salexis Wines is pleased to announce that we are
once again producing Merlot. Between 1998 and 2004, Salexis Wines delivered this
concentrated wine which rivals its Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon counterparts. After a three
year search for fruit, we have settled into a small plot of Merlot grown in the Carneros district of
the Napa Valley.
The 2019 Salexis Merlot offers the aromas and flavors of cherries, raspberries, plums, and
balanced with toasty French oak characters. This wine will pair well with all red meat dishes
and continue to develop for 10 to 15 years.
